Books on Genetic Testing
Applied Imaging Applied Imaging competes in the genetic testing and cancer pathology markets. The Company is the leading supplier of automated imaging systems for the analysis of chromosomes in cancer and prenatal disorders. Clinicians and researchers worldwide use our genetic testing systems more often than any other automated system. The company has expanded its scanning and imaging capabilities, and is adding key reagents, for the detection and genetic characterization of rare cancer cells indicative of metastatic disease. Applied Imaging has placed over 2000 systems in 1000 laboratories in over 40 countries. PowerGene™ MacKtype karyotyping system PowerGene™ MacKtype karyotyping system automates the entire karyotyping process from its one click autocapture capabilities to its comprehensive chromosome analysis package. The PowerGene™ MacKtype is based upon an Apple® Macintosh® Platform and offers the following key features: -Trainable classifiers for G, R, and Q banded preparations The PowerGene™ MacKtype workstations are available in the following configurations:
-Capture and karyotyping workstation
-Karyotyping only workstation -Director's review workstation
Quips XL
Genetic Workstations
Quips XL Genetic Workstations incorporate
a high resolution digital cooled CCD camera designed specifically for
fluorescence, and permit analysis of extremely low signal levels.
In advanced applications, the XL system's high resolution digital cooled CCD allows for the detection of fluorescent signals not visible to the human eye. Cooled CCD cameras result in images with very little background, which is typically caused by thermally generated electronic noise. Quips XL Genetic Workstations also use high performance computer platforms, automated filter wheels, optimized filter sets, image archiving devices and near photographic quality printers. For maximum image resolution and unsurpassed image quality, Quips XL Genetic Workstations are an answer for all of today’s and tomorrow’s genetic imaging needs.

More About Applied Spectral Imaging, Inc. ASI offers a complete line of cytogenetics imaging products called CytoLabView , which includes its FDA-approved BandView EXPO™ automated karyotyping system, its newly-released FISHView EXPO ™ FISH imaging system and SkyView, the gold standard in multicolor karyotyping. All workstations include a unique manual counting utility and the Case Data Manager (CDM), a powerful and sophisticated patient database. In addition, we offer software packages such as CGHView , as well as perform a cost-effective multicolor upgrade to SKYView EXPO™ for the most complete clinical cytogenetics imaging package available. ASI developed and commercialized the gold
standard in multicolor karyotyping (SKYView EXPO™). SKYView
EXPO™ simultaneously identifies and displays all chromosomes in unique
colors. Its greatest advantage is that it can immediately point out chromosomal
aberrations, which are usually an indication of cancer, birth defects or other
serious genetic problems, without the need to know the underlying specific
disease. ASI also markets SpectraView™, a general analytical imaging system that analyzes and quantifies information that might otherwise be missed. This accurate quantification means that the physical and chemical properties of a sample can be quickly and categorically identified, characterized or verified. There are potential applications for SpectraView™ in drug discovery, genomics, proteomics, cell biology, and pathology.
