cooling and compression
Aquawrap Click on image to enlarge AquaWrap provides both cooling and compression to an injury. Cooling and compression are critical aspects of R.I.C.E. therapy. AquaWrap, if needed, can be applied continually. Ice can only be applied for a maximum of twenty minutes at a minimum of thirty-minute intervals. AquaWrap provides moist cooling, no the typical ice-burn discomfort. There is no danger of frost bite or freezer burn. AquaWrap is 96 parts water, 3 parts Polyvinyl Alcohol and 1 part Sodium Borate (Borax). This equation allows self-cooling by the evaporation process. AquaWrap can be used many times as long as the wrap is rehydrated by running it under tap water, pressing out the excess, returning it to its plastic bag and storing it in the jar it was purchased in. AquaWrap is self-adhesive and non-cumbersome. It does not have to be refrigerated to be effective which also makes it very transportable in an emergency first aid kit.
